Your tutor: Brogan Houghton
I have been working with clay for about 4 and a half years. Learning through the Waikato Society of Potters, to slowly setting up my personal studio at home. I started by doing a 4-week taster course and then regularly attending the play with clay sessions. The majority of my creations are wheel-thrown, but I do also do a lot of hand building at my place of work.
In 2021 I taught my first wheel throwing class and have loved teaching ever since. Teaching pottery is a fun way that I pass on my passion for making and the skills I have learnt since working with clay. I love seeing people give it a go and get excited about the things they can create with clay!
