Tena koutou katoa, Ko Therese May (Tess) ahau, Nga mihi nui ki a kuotou!
My name is Therese May but call me Tess. I studied as a ceramic artist at the Queensland College of Art. I then worked full time at Montville Pottery, Queensland, Petruccelli Ceramics and Robert Gordon Pottery, Victoria for 10 years as a production thrower.
Come join me in a half day workshop in everything you need to know when turning your thrown pieces. In this workshop I will cover how to make your own chucks and how to use them, the tools you need in your kete, and how to approach each piece you turn.
Please note:
This is a woprkshop focused on trimming your wheel thrown pieces. You will learn to throw different types of chucks, so please bring some clay with you as well.
It is important you have already thrown some items to trim for this class. Bring your already thrown, leather hard pieces that you want to trim to this workshop.
Cost: Members $40; Non-members $60
Clay and firing are extra.
