An introduction to making hand-built pottery, wheel-thrown pottery, glazing and firing in our raku (oil drum) kiln.
Join WSP Kiln Technician, David Kenny for a 4-week course in the basics of making pottery. A great foundation in all the main techniques, with a real firing at the end!
David is an experienced potter, who regularly teaches beginners at Ngaruawahia, Te Kauwhata and Te Awamutu.
Ideal for those who haven't touched clay since school and want to try out techniques.
Cost of materials & firing is extra. Payments for materials & firing can be paid at the society and will be determined on usage.

The Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right cancel a class if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons outside of our control. A full refund will be given if the class is cancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee. If a student cancels their enrolment within 72 hours of the first class starting, no refund will be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days prior to the event a 50% administration charge will be deducted from the refund. Should a student cancel their enrolment any time prior to the above a 20% administration fee will be deducted from the refund.
WSP does not provide makeup sessions or credits for classes that you have missed due to your personal circumstances,less
